Our friendly and supportive team, based at G Block, in Bury St Edmunds and covering the Bury South area, are looking for a Nursing Associate to join us in providing an excellent service to Older People in our area. We provide a community-based service to people of any age with a dementia diagnosis, and to Older People with a functional mental health diagnosis such and complex needs.
You’ll be working alongside a close knit multi-disciplinary team of Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Psychological Therapists, Independent Prescriber and Psychiatrists as well as working closely with GP surgeries, PCNs, Social Workers within ACS and Care Agencies.
We value the unique skills that all of the different professions bring to the team, and you will be supported within this role to utilise your specialist skills. You will be supported to attend any profession specific training and learning events to support your ongoing CPD. We are looking for someone who is keen to contribute to innovative thinking and service development

We are an established team with a high retention rate, and we are looking to welcome a Nursing Associate. You will be given full support and a comprehensive induction.
We are looking for someone who is interested in working in Older People’s services, has an interest in physical as well as mental health and who has an understanding of assessment, the referral process and working collaboratively with the wider MDT.
As a Community Nursing Associate you will be responsible for:
- Contributing to assessment and support the development and implementation of recovery plans
- Assisting in the delivery of complex care as prescribed by the registered nurse.
- Using Dialog+ where possible and Recovery Care Planning with service users and carers.
- Managing your own diary and planning your day.
- Attending MDT meetings and wards.
- Participating in the Duty Rota.
- Communicating effectively through notes on Lorenzo and letters to Service Users, GPs and other involved parties.
- Administering depot medication, where needed and appropriate
- Supporting with our newly established physical health clinics
- Driving is essential for this role.
The way we care for people with Learning Disabilities in Suffolk is changing at NSFT as we have recently benefitted from £1.3 million of investment for our Acute services and the role out of a new Learning Disability and Autism Specialist Service.
The development is fully driven by the national Transforming Care Agenda. The Learning Disability and Autism Specialist Service is not only being invested in financially, with a fresh approach to ideas and service delivery being supported by the Trust, we are confident our new model of care is the very best for the people we care for.
We have a culture of continued learning, working as a close LD specialist pathway with each team having protected days which includes a variety of training, reflection, supervision and service development.
