Priory Pharmacy is a busy, patient-focused community pharmacy in Orpington seeking a reliable and motivated Pharmacy Dispenser / Dispensing Assistant to join our professional team. Working Hours
- Monday: 9:00am – 6:00pm
- Tuesday: 9:00am – 6:00pm
- Wednesday: 9:00am – 5:00pm
- Thursday: 9:00am – 6:00pm
- Friday: 9:00am – 5:00pm
Saturdays are covered on a rota basis. When a Saturday is worked, the following Monday will be provided as a day off in lieu.
Role Overview
You will play a key role in the safe and efficient dispensing of prescriptions while delivering excellent customer service. The position involves participation in the full dispensing workflow and supporting the delivery of clinical and commercial pharmacy services.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting in the preparation and dispensing of prescriptions accurately and efficiently
- Supporting pharmacists in the end-to-end dispensing process
- Labelling and assembling medicines
- Managing stock, ordering, and date checking
- Providing friendly and professional customer service
- Building and maintaining long-term relationships with patients and customers
- Handling prescription queries and signposting where appropriate
- Supporting the delivery of pharmacy services, including:
- Blood pressure monitoring
- Blood glucose testing
- Health checks
- Seasonal flu vaccinations
- Maintaining a clean, organised dispensary environment
- Complying with pharmacy regulations, SOPs, and confidentiality requirements
Person Specification
Essential
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Professional, reliable, and patient-focused approach
- Good organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload
Desirable
- Previous experience in a community pharmacy setting
- NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Pharmacy Services (or equivalent)
- Experience using pharmacy computer systems
Candidates without formal qualifications will still be considered — full training will be provided for the right individual.
