Learning Disability and Autism Support Coach
Salary: £28,000 per year
Location: St Albans (office-based, with some travel)
Are you a team leader or manager in care and support and ready to use your skills to develop others? Or have you just graduated in Health and Social Care and want to take the next step in your career?
If you have experience supporting people with a learning disability or who are autistic, and the drive to help individuals thrive in training and employment, this could be the role for you.
At Unique Training Solutions (UTS), we’re passionate about making a difference. We deliver high-quality training to the Health, Housing and Social Care sectors across the UK, and we’re proud to be the only provider with the Skills for Care quality mark for the Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training in Learning Disability and Autism.
We’re now looking for a Learning Disability and Autism Support Coach to join our fast-paced, growing team. This role is ideal if you’ve worked in care settings such as hospitals, care homes, or organisations that provide personalised support services to help people with learning disabilities or who are autistic, and want to move into a rewarding support, training and development role.
What you’ll be doing:
- Supporting our Expert Trainers with lived experience (EWLE) of learning disability or autism to deliver training successfully.
- Helping with diary planning, travel, expenses, and day-to-day organisation.
- Supporting EWLE trainers to build person-centred skills and employment plans.
- Acting as a first point of contact for new EWLE candidates and their families/support networks.
- Organising and co-ordinating training sessions, onboarding, and supporting new EWLE trainers.
- Providing pastoral support and wellbeing guidance.
- Working closely with the UTS team to deliver high-quality training programmes across the UK.
About you:
We don’t expect you to have done this role before — full training is provided — but we’re looking for someone who has:
- Experience in care, support, or employment services (hospital, care home, social care, or supported employment) working with adults who are autistic or have learning disabilities.
- A genuine passion for supporting adults with a learning disability or autism.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills — able to prepare reports, correspondence, and liaise confidently with staff, clients, and experts at all levels.
- Good IT skills, including confident use of Word, Excel, and the ability to learn new systems.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Confidence building positive relationships with colleagues and professionals.
- Drive, enthusiasm, and a team-player attitude.
This is an excellent opportunity to build a career in training and coaching, with genuine progression routes in a supportive, innovative company.
