About the Role
Cardiff Bus is looking for a reliable and hardworking Skilled Upholster to join our team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for repairing, refurbishing, and re-trimming vehicle seats, ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and vehicles are returned to service safely and efficiently.
Job Type: Full-Time permanent
Hours: 39 hours - 8am to 430pm
Salary: £16 per hour
Main Purpose of the Role
To carry out repairs on a variety of vehicle seats, overhaul interiors, and complete full seat re-trims to ensure vehicles meet company quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Disassemble and reassemble vehicle seats and interior components for repair, refurbishment, and re-trimming.
- Replace seat cushions, foams, and upholstery fabrics, ensuring a durable, high-quality finish.
- Manufacture, prepare, and fit seat covers to new or refurbished seat bases and frames with accuracy and consistency.
- Carry out seat re-trimming and repairs on vehicles removed from service for MOT preparation and return to operation.
- Promote a positive health and safety culture by following safe working practices, understanding risk assessments, and maintaining a safe working environment.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure work is completed efficiently and to required standards.
- Undertake any other duties as reasonably required by the Company.
Skills & Experience
- Experience working effectively as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual, and strong work ethic.
- Physically fit and comfortable undertaking manual work.
- Good attention to detail and pride in producing quality work.
- Previous experience in upholstery, trimming, or vehicle interior repairs.
