Job Summary
We are currently looking for a Trade Counter Operative to join our busy and growing fenestration supply business. This is a varied role combining customer-facing trade counter sales, warehouse duties and occasional driving, ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced trade environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Serving customers on the trade counter, providing excellent service to installers, builders and trade customers
- Processing sales orders, quotes and payments accurately
- Advising customers on window, door and glazing products
- Picking and preparing customer orders from the warehouse
- Loading and unloading deliveries safely
- Maintaining a clean and organised warehouse and trade counter area
- Assisting with stock control and goods in/out
- Occasional local deliveries to customers when required
- Provide product information, advice, and recommendations to optimise customer satisfaction
- Upsell products and promote special offers to maximise sales opportunities
- Manage stock levels through merchandising, ensuring displays are tidy and well-stocked
Requirements
- Previous experience in the fenestration, glazing, building plastics or construction supply industry preferred
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work in a busy environment
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Full UK driving licence required
