Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled VNA Driver to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating Very Narrow Aisle (VNA) forklifts to efficiently manage warehouse materials, ensuring safe and accurate handling of goods. This role is vital in maintaining smooth warehouse operations, supporting shipping and receiving functions, and contributing to overall productivity. The position offers an opportunity to utilise mechanical knowledge and warehouse experience within a dynamic environment.
Duties
- Operate VNA forklifts to load, unload, and transport materials within the warehouse
- Manage materials handling tasks with precision, ensuring safety and efficiency
- Assist with shipping and receiving activities, verifying incoming and outgoing items
- Conduct basic equipment repairs or report faults promptly to maintenance teams
- Utilise warehouse management systems to track inventory movements accurately
- Perform load and unload operations, adhering to safety protocols
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment, supporting overall warehouse organisation
- Support stock organisation and assist with inventory counts as required
- Use basic maths skills for measuring, counting, and verifying quantities during operations
Requirements
- Proven experience operating VNA forklifts or similar equipment in a warehouse setting
- Strong understanding of warehouse management systems and inventory control processes
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic equipment repairs or troubleshooting
- Knowledge of materials handling procedures, shipping & receiving protocols
- Ability to lift heavy loads safely and perform physically demanding tasks regularly
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail in documentation and stock management
- Basic maths skills for measurements, calculations, and inventory verification
- Previous experience working with forklift trucks, particularly VNA models, is highly desirable
- Valid forklift licence or certification is preferred but not essential; training can be provided for suitable candidates
This role requires a proactive approach to safety and efficiency within a fast-paced warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will be organised, mechanically inclined, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
Pay: £13.00-£13.50 per hour
