Quality Assurance Officer – Support Services
Responsible to: Support Manager
Responsible for: Internal auditing of support files and property folders
Hours: 35 per week
Role Overview
This role is ideal for someone who is meticulous, confident in auditing support documentation, and committed to raising the quality of support delivery across supported housing services. You will play a key part in ensuring compliance, improving standards, and supporting staff to deliver accurate, person‑centred, and regulation‑aligned support.
Qualifications & Experience
- Demonstrated experience completing full audit cycles of support case files, identifying errors, inconsistencies, and areas for improvement.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to interpret documentation critically.
- Understanding of supported housing service delivery, including relevant legislation, regulatory frameworks, and best practice standards.
- Familiarity with evidence‑based documentation and person‑centred support planning.
- Ability to work to set targets and deadlines within agreed timescales.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards across all support files, with shared accountability between auditors, senior support workers, and support workers.
Key ResponsibilitiesSupport File Auditing
- Complete thorough audits of support case files to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
- Produce clear, accurate, and actionable audit reports for each file reviewed.
- Update the audit tracker daily to reflect caseloads, progress, and outstanding actions.
- Achieve daily, weekly, and monthly audit targets as set by management.
- Ensure one‑third of the required 20% sample of support files is submitted for external review in line with RLS directives.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Recommend and implement improvements to the auditing process based on internal findings.
- Work collaboratively with Senior Support Workers to review documentation related to service users.
- Support the organisation in preparing for external audits, ensuring staff understand requirements and expectations.
- Conduct internal spot checks on support worker case files to maintain ongoing compliance and quality.
- Deliver training sessions to support workers to improve documentation standards, accuracy, and audit readiness.
