We are a growing engineering company specialising in fabrication & manufacturing. We are looking for a highly organised and motivated Admin Assistant to join our office team. This role offers genuine career progression, with structured training to help within the Estimating department.
Role Overview
As our Admin Assistant, you’ll support the day-to-day running of the office while gaining hands-on exposure to the estimating process. This role is ideal for someone who is proactive, numerate, and keen to build a long-term career within the engineering sector.
Key Responsibilities
- General administrative support including answering calls, emails, and greeting visitors
- Preparing and managing documents, spreadsheets, and job files
- Updating internal systems with project details and costs
- Supporting the estimating team with initial take-offs, pricing checks, and gathering information
- Filing, document control, and assisting with quality management procedures
- Liaising with engineers, project managers, and clients as required
Progression & Training into;
We will provide full training in:
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Understanding materials, processes, and job specifications
- Assisting in preparing quotations and cost breakdowns
- Using estimating software and internal costing tools
As your skills develop, you will take on more responsibility within the estimating department, progressing to Estimating Assistant.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous administrative experience (engineering or construction sector beneficial)
- Strong IT skills, particularly Google sheets and document management
- Good numeracy skills and attention to detail
- Willingness to learn technical concepts
- Excellent communication and organisational abilities
- A proactive mindset and desire to progress within the company
Pay: £13.00 per hour
