We are currently recruiting for 2 reliable and motivated HGV Class 2 Drivers to join the Refuse Collection team at Braintree. This is an excellent opportunity to secure ongoing work within a supportive local authority environment while playing a key role in keeping the community clean, safe, and well-maintained.
The Role
As an HGV Class 2 Driver, you will be responsible for operating a refuse collection vehicle (dustcart) and working closely with a dedicated collection crew to deliver essential waste collection services across the district.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Class 2 refuse collection vehicle
- Complete scheduled household and commercial waste collections
- Work effectively as part of a professional refuse collection team
- Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects
- Follow all health and safety procedures and road traffic regulations
- Deliver a high standard of service to the local community
What We're Looking For
- Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) driving licence
- Driver CPC qualification
- Digital Tachograph Card
- Previous dustcart or refuse collection experience is advantageous but not essential
- Strong work ethic and reliable attendance
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Commitment to safe working practices
