About the role:
Heath End Pharmacy, Farnham, is at the heart of the community. The pharmacy team work closely with the GP practices to provide seamless healthcare to the local community.
We are passionate about patient care and are looking for like-minded Dispensers who share our appetite to develop and deliver pharmacy services. This is a great opportunity for someone to enter the pharmacy profession or join our progressive team to further their opportunities. Full training will be provided leading to recognised Pharmacy MCA qualifications and you will gain a wealth of experience, with the possibility to further training and opportunities leading to NVQ 2-3 Pharmacy Dispensing Qualifications.
In addition to the above you will learn a huge amount about the NHS, Medicines, Pharmacy, Dispensing Processes and the services Pharmacists and Pharmacies provide to thousands of people on a daily basis in local communities. You can be part of a business providing a key NHS Healthcare Service.
Salary is competitive and negotiable based on experience
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure safe and efficient provision of pharmacy service
- Support all dispensing processes including MDS and Care Homes to ensure safe and efficient pharmacy service
- Oversee & develop over the counter (OTC) offering
- Pharmacy opening/closing
- Engage in mandatory CPD & attend training events

- Pharmacy MCA
- Pharmacy NVQ2
- Excellent communication skills
- Customer focused and friendly
- Excellent numeracy skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to work to tight deadlines

Licence/Certification:
- NVQ2 Pharmacy Dispenser Qualification (or equivalent) (required)
Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense medications as prescribed by healthcare professionals, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Provide exceptional patient care by addressing inquiries and offering guidance on medication usage and potential side effects.
- Assist in the preparation of medication orders, including counting, measuring, and mixing pharmaceuticals as required.
- Maintain accurate records of prescriptions dispensed and ensure proper storage of medications.
- Collaborate with pharmacy technicians and pharmacists to optimise workflow and enhance service delivery.
- Conduct regular inventory checks to manage stock levels and assist in ordering supplies when necessary.
- Uphold cleanliness and organisation within the pharmacy area to ensure a safe working environment.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Pharmacy Dispenser or in a similar role is preferred.
- A solid understanding of medication administration and patient care practices is essential.
- Certification or qualification as a Pharmacy Technician is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with patients and healthcare professionals alike.
- A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards in pharmacy practice.
