About the Role
We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and compassionate Head Nurse / Assistant Manager to join our team. This leadership position combines clinical excellence with operational management responsibilities, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care while supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the practice/facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, supervise, and support the nursing team to maintain high standards of patient care.
- Assist the Practice Manager with daily operations and staff management.
- Ensure compliance with clinical protocols, health and safety regulations, and company policies.
- Coordinate staff schedules, training, and performance development.
- Monitor stock levels and oversee ordering of clinical supplies and equipment.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and mentoring of nursing staff.
- Handle patient concerns and contribute to continuous service improvement.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Promote a positive, collaborative, and professional working environment.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse qualification with a current valid registration.
- Previous experience in a senior nursing, lead nurse, or supervisory role.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency with clinical management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
Desirable Qualifications
- Management or leadership training/certification.
- Experience in staff performance management and development.
- Previous experience within a healthcare, primary care, specialist clinic, or care setting.
