The Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant in the resource base, you will support pupils with a variety of additional needs, helping them access learning in a way that works best for them. You’ll work under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCo, supporting small groups and individual pupils to achieve their personal learning goals.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing 1:1 or small-group support for pupils with special educational needs
- Supporting the delivery of personalised learning programmes
- Promoting independence, confidence, and positive behaviour
- Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and parents to support pupil progress
- Helping to create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment
- Assisting with classroom preparation and adapting resources as needed
- Ensuring all safeguarding and school policies are followed

The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience working with children with SEN (Autism, speech and language, or social communication needs desirable)
- A positive, proactive, and flexible attitude
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- An understanding of how to support emotional and behavioural needs
- A commitment to inclusion, safeguarding, and promoting pupil wellbeing
