Plassey Golf Club, a family-owned and run company is recruiting for a Greenkeeper / Groundsman
Set in beautiful parkland and surrounded by trees, ponds, and streams, Plassey’s 9-hole, par 66, 4843 yards golf course is one both beginners and experienced golfers can enjoy.
Designed by Keith Williams, coach to the world-famous Welsh golfer and Master’s winner Ian Woosnam OBE, it is affiliated to both the Denbighshire and Welsh Golfing Unions.
We also have our own pitch and putt course and driving range which is ideal for golfers of all abilities.
Nestled in 250 acres of park and woodland in the picturesque Dee Valley, North Wales, our golf course and associated facilities offers all golfers a great challenge.

Main Purpose of Role
To carry out golf course ground maintenance duties as directed, ensuring that the golf course is at all times presented in the best possible condition by consistently demonstrating our values-led approach, our customers and colleagues always experience quality interactions and service.
Key Tasks/Accountabilities:
- Cutting all playing surfaces, changing holes, moving markers, raking bunkers, and spraying for weeds to ensure that the course is at all times presented in the best possible condition.
- Possible construction, aeration and turfing work/duties.
- To operate grass cutting machinery safely and effectively, care and maintenance of machinery and the reporting of loss or damage to the Head Greenkeeper according to policy and procedures.
- Ensure the efficient and effective operation and safe handling of all machinery and equipment following policy and procedures.
- Undertake ad-hoc projects and assignments as required.
- To work within the Health & Safety, COSHH, Risk Assessment at all times.
- Ensure the efficient and effective operation and safe handling of all chemicals.
- Any other duties that may be required.
Essential Skills & Experience Required
- At least 2 years experience of working as a greenkeeper or groundsman
- PA1, 2 & 6 Spraying Certificates desirable.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to work on own or within a team.
- Attention to detail and a can do attitude.

The role is full time working 42.5 hour per week, and a competitive salary is on offer for the right candidate. Due to the location of the Plassey you will require your own transport.
