Location: Chelmsford, Essex
Salary: £34,398 - £46,839 FTE (£27,518 - £37,471 pro rata)
Contract: Part-Time (4 Days per Week, Monday–Thursday)
Contract Type: Fixed Term Maternity Cover (1 Academic Year)
Start Date: September 2026
Dunbar Education is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and well-regarded primary school in Chelmsford for a Year 1 Class Teacher to join their team from September 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and committed teacher to join a caring school community where children are known as individuals and staff work collaboratively to ensure every child achieves their full potential.
The Role
- Teaching a Year 1 class four days per week (Monday–Thursday)
- Full classroom responsibilities including planning, preparation, assessment and reporting
- Creating an engaging and nurturing learning environment
- Working closely with colleagues, parents and school leaders
- Supporting pupils' academic, social and emotional development
- Contributing positively to the wider life of the school
The Ideal Candidate
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience teaching within KS1
- Strong understanding of the Year 1 curriculum
- Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
- Passionate about delivering high-quality teaching and learning
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- ECTs and experienced teachers are welcome to apply
