We are looking for a friendly, energetic and engaging Father Christmas to join the team for Alderford’s Santa Island Experience. This is a fast paced, guest-facing role where you will create magical moments for hundreds of families throughout the festive season.
Families will travel to Santa Island before meeting Father Christmas for a special one-to-one visit. With around 3 minutes per family, we are looking for someone who can quickly build rapport, interact naturally with children and create a memorable festive experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome families warmly into Father Christmas’ grotto on Santa Island
- Interact confidently with children of all ages in a fun and natural way
- Create magical, memorable moments during short family visits
- Use guest information provided to personalise interactions where possible
- Pose for photographs and help create a positive guest experience
- Keep visits flowing smoothly while maintaining high energy throughout the day
- Work closely with elves and the wider Christmas team to manage guest flow and timings
- Stay in character at all times in guest-facing areas
- Maintain the presentation and festive atmosphere of the grotto space

- Loves working with children and families
- Is confident speaking to guests and improvising conversations
- Can work efficiently in a busy, fast paced environment
- Has strong customer service and communication skills
- Is reliable, punctual and works well as part of a team
- Can maintain high levels of energy and enthusiasm throughout long days
Essential Requirements
- Availability across weekends and selected weekdays throughout November and December
- Comfortable working outdoors and travelling by boat to the island experience
- Ability to stay in character while in guest-facing areas
- DBS check preferred (or willingness to obtain one if required)
Desirable Experience
- Experience working as Father Christmas or in a festive attraction
- Experience in hospitality, tourism, events or entertainment
- Experience working with children and families
