Role Summary
To support business performance and financial compliance, we are recruiting a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Payable professional to join our dedicated and collaborative team.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the Finance function by ensuring the accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices, payments, reconciliations, and expense management activities.
The role will involve:
- Communicating with relevant suppliers to process invoicing or payment queries.
- Attaching the correct documentation to invoices and reconciling purchase orders to invoices received.
- Posting invoices and credit notes and ensuring they are coded correctly within the system.
- Preparing monthly supplier statement reconciliations.
- Dealing with external and internal queries via telephone and email.
- Preparing and processing supplier payments.
- Ensuring all accounts payable activities comply with relevant financial policies and procedures.
- Investigating and resolving outstanding creditor items.
- Supporting month-end finance processes and maintaining accurate financial records.
- Building strong working relationships with suppliers and internal departments to support smooth financial operations.
- You will be responsible for helping maintain effective financial controls while contributing to the smooth day-to-day running of the Accounts Payable function within a fast-paced environment.
- To be successful in this position, you will demonstrate excellent attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Skills/Experience/Qualifications
To perform this role successfully, an individual must be able to carry out each essential duty to a high standard. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or ability required.
- Previous experience within an Accounts Payable, Finance Assistant, or similar finance role.
- Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively.
- Experience processing high volumes of invoices and supplier reconciliations.
- Good understanding of financial controls and compliance procedures.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships.
- Ability to investigate and resolve invoice or payment queries efficiently.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Experience using ERP or accounting systems would be advantageous.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- A proactive and flexible approach with the ability to adapt within a fast-paced business environment.
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.
- Ideally AAT qualified or working towards a finance/accounting qualification, although this is not essential depending on experience.
