Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to provide high-quality care and assistance to individuals in various settings, including assisted living, nursing homes, and home care environments. Duties
- Assist with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility support
- Provide specialised care for individuals with Alzheimer’s, dementia, or other cognitive impairments
- Support patients with medication administration following prescribed guidelines
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements
- Offer emotional support and companionship to clients of all ages, including children and seniors
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment
- Drive clients to appointments or social activities as needed
- Manage behaviour management strategies to promote positive interactions and safety
- Respond promptly to emergency situations with appropriate first aid procedures
- Support clients with hospice or end-of-life care in a respectful and compassionate manner
Skills
- Experience in assisted living, nursing home care, or home care environments preferred
- Knowledge of patient care, caregiving techniques, and medication administration
- Familiarity with Alzheimer’s, dementia, and hospice care practices
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships with clients and their families
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when required
- First aid certification is advantageous
- Valid driving licence for transportation duties
- Organisation skills for managing multiple clients’ needs efficiently
- Patience, empathy, and a caring attitude towards vulnerable individuals
