Oates Recovery Ltd – Monday to Friday - Recovery Driver (3.5T Day Shift)

Oates Recovery Ltd is a professional breakdown and recovery specialist operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, providing roadside assistance and vehicle recovery for both cars and light commercial vehicles.
We are seeking a reliable and motivated 3.5T Recovery Driver to join our growing team on a full-time day shift.
This role is operationally demanding and can be fast-paced, particularly when attending breakdowns in hazardous locations or responding to road traffic collisions. The successful candidate must demonstrate excellent situational awareness, safe working practices, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
Key Responsibilities
- Recover broken down and accident-damaged vehicles using a 3.5T recovery vehicle.
- Safely load, secure, and transport vehicles.
- Attend roadside breakdowns and road traffic collision scenes in a professional manner.
- Update job management software accurately and in real time.
- Deliver exceptional customer service at all times.
- Carry out daily vehicle checks and ensure the recovery vehicle is maintained to a high standard.
Requirements
- Full UK Driving Licence (held for a minimum of 1 year).
- Previous vehicle recovery, roadside assistance, towing, or motor trade experience is preferred but not essential.
- Ability to work independently and make sound operational decisions.
- Strong understanding of roadside safety procedures.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Flexible and dependable with a positive attitude.
Shift Pattern
- Monday to Friday
- 07:00 – 18:00
- Successful candidate must participate in a 1 in 2 weekend on-call rota, working 07:00 – 18:00 when on call.
Salary & Benefits
- £12.71 per hour
- Overtime paid at £14.00 per hour
- Monthly pay
- Overtime opportunities available
- 6-month paid probation period before permanent employment is confirmed
- Full training provided where required
