We are seeking an experienced Registered Manager to lead our solo placement children’s residential home in Leeds.
This role offers the opportunity to establish and lead a high-quality residential service, building a dedicated team and ensuring the home delivers exceptional care and positive outcomes for children.
You will oversee all aspects of the home's day-to-day operations and ensure the service operates in full compliance with Ofsted regulations and the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015.
Working alongside local authorities, social workers, education providers, and therapeutic professionals, you will play a key role in ensuring every young person receives the support they need to stabilise, grow, and progress.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the home in full compliance with the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Ofsted inspection framework.
- Recruit, develop, and supervise a dedicated team of Senior Residential Workers and Residential Support Workers.
- Ensure all care practice reflects trauma-informed and relationship-based approaches, particularly the PACE model and Positive Behaviour Support.
- Develop and maintain individualised care plans addressing each child’s emotional, behavioural, educational, and health needs.
- Maintain the highest standards of safeguarding and child protection within the home.
- Work collaboratively with placing authorities, social workers, schools, and health professionals.
- Manage Regulation 44 independent monitoring visits and implement improvements following recommendations.
- Ensure all documentation and records meet Ofsted regulatory standards and data protection requirements.
- Promote children’s rights, equality, diversity, and inclusion across all aspects of the home.
- Support young people’s education, wellbeing, and personal development.
- Encourage participation in activities that promote confidence, independence, and social development.
What You Will Need
Essential
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (England) or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years’ supervisory experience within a children’s residential home.
- Strong understanding of Ofsted regulations and Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015.
- In-depth knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- Experience working with children with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties, trauma, or complex needs.
- Understanding of trauma-informed care, PACE, and Positive Behaviour Support.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to build and motivate a team.
- Excellent organisational and decision-making abilities.
- Confident IT skills and experience using care management systems.
Desirable
- Previous experience working as a Registered Manager in a children’s residential home.
- Experience supporting young people with autism or neurodevelopmental needs.
- Experience preparing for or leading Ofsted inspections.
- Additional training in therapeutic or attachment-based care models.
