Role Overview
The Electrical Procurement Manager is responsible for overseeing all procurement, stock control, supplier management, and purchasing activities across the business.
The role ensures materials, tools, equipment, and services are sourced cost-effectively, delivered on time, and managed efficiently to support operational and project requirements.
Salary: Starting salary from £35,000 per annum
Key Responsibilities
Procurement & Purchasing:
- Performing all procurement activities including, negotiation of supplier agreements and preparation of contracts
- Acquire quotation, pricing and delivery from suppliers to optimise cost-efficiency
- Complete a cost analysis on materials and equipment to ensure correct purchasing patterns
- Keep up to date with suppliers pricing structures, and market trends to achieve best value
- Identify new suppliers, open supplier accounts, and audit existing suppliers to maintain quality and competitiveness
- Source equipment required for projects including specialist hire equipment
- Purchasing tools for the engineering team
Supplier Management:
- Develop strong relationships with suppliers
- Analyse supplier performance and identify opportunities for process improvements
- Completing audits on existing suppliers to ensure, service levels, pricing and quality are maintained
Stock & Warehouse Management:
- Manage stock levels within the warehouse and engineers van stock
- Manage engineers stock purchases
- Audit purchased stock for completed jobs to ensure budgets are not exceeded
- Ensure stock returns are processed correctly and efficiently
- Monitor inventory movement and improve stock control procedures
Operational Support & Compliance:
- Create and implement a purchasing process and procurement matrix
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with the company procedures
- Keep equipment calibration records up to date and in line with the up-to-date regulations
- Maintaining up to date records to ensure compliance requirements are met
- Cross – reference invoices against purchase orders to ensure accuracy before processing
- Supporting the delivery team with procurement requirements for upcoming projects ensuring delivery deadlines
Financial & Performance Management
- Working to KPI’s and procurement budgets
- Monitor procurement spends and identifies cost-saving opportunities
- Support the business in improving procurement efficiency, operational performance and cost savings
- Produce procurement and stock reports
Skills & Experience Required:
- Previous experience in an Electrical Procurement Manager role
- Good knowledge and understanding of electrical materials, tools and equipment
- Experience managing supplier relationships
- Strong organisational and administrative skills
- Strong procurement and negotiation skills
