Job Description: Electrical Contracts Manager
Location: Warley, Brentwood
Reports To: Senior Contracts Manager
Salary: £52,500-£60,000 p/a + Car Allowance

Working in partnership with local authorities and housing associations, we deliver high-quality Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs), remedial works, and electrical compliance programmes that keep residents safe and homes fully compliant with current legislation.
Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit an ambitious Electrical Contracts Manager to support the delivery of our expanding Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) contracts. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Electrical Supervisor, Qualified Supervisor (QS), Electrical Compliance Manager, Electrical Contracts Supervisor, or Approved Electrician looking to progress into a Contracts Management role.
The Role
As an Electrical Contracts Manager, you will support the successful delivery of electrical compliance contracts, ensuring EICRs, remedial works, consumer unit upgrades, and associated electrical projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard.
Working alongside the Contracts Manager, you will oversee engineers and subcontractors, ensure compliance with BS7671 and industry regulations, monitor certification, and maintain excellent client relationships while helping achieve operational and commercial targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing EICR programmes and associated remedial electrical works.
- Ensure electrical works are completed safely, efficiently, and within agreed client timescales.
- Support the achievement of contractual KPIs and service level agreements.
- Monitor outstanding remedial works and drive completion.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational performance and service delivery.
Electrical Operations Management
- Manage the day-to-day activities of electricians, testing engineers, and subcontractors.
- Monitor engineer productivity, utilisation, quality, and attendance.
- Carry out site inspections and quality audits of completed electrical installations and testing.
- Support workforce planning and engineer allocation.
- Ensure jobs are completed and closed correctly using company systems.
Electrical Compliance & Technical Standards
- Ensure EICRs, Electrical Installation Certificates (EICs), Minor Works Certificates, and remedial documentation are completed accurately and submitted within contractual timescales.
- Ensure full compliance with BS7671 Wiring Regulations, Electricity at Work Regulations, and client specifications.
- Support technical audits and quality assurance processes.
- Maintain accurate compliance records and certification.
- Assist in resolving technical electrical queries from engineers and clients.
Client & Resident Liaison
- Build strong working relationships with housing associations, local authorities, residents, and internal teams.
- Attend client meetings and operational review meetings.
- Support the resolution of customer complaints and technical issues.
- Deliver a professional and customer-focused service.
Commercial & Performance Support
- Assist with monitoring contract costs and performance against budget.
- Support pricing and management of remedial works and contract variations.
- Produce operational and compliance reports.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and increased efficiency.
Health & Safety
- Promote a strong electrical safety culture across all contracts.
- Ensure engineers comply with company procedures and safe working practices.
- Support toolbox talks, audits, and site inspections.
- Assist with accident, incident, and near-miss investigations.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety legislation.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous experience within Electrical Contracting, Electrical Compliance, Social Housing, Property Maintenance, or Facilities Management.
- Strong understanding of Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) and remedial works.
- Good working knowledge of BS7671 Wiring Regulations.
- Experience supervising electricians or electrical subcontractors.
- Ability to interpret electrical certification and identify compliance issues.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and job management systems.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
- 2391-52 Testing & Inspection.
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671).
- Experience working on NICEIC or equivalent accredited contracts.
