Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Tandoori Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in preparing authentic Indian tandoori dishes, demonstrating leadership and supervisory skills. This role involves overseeing food production, managing kitchen operations, and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality. The Tandoori Chef will play a vital role in delivering exceptional dining experiences while maintaining a well-organised and efficient kitchen environment.
Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of traditional tandoori dishes with authentic flavours and techniques
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance on food preparation, cooking methods, and presentation standards
- Manage food production schedules to ensure timely service during busy periods
- Oversee food safety protocols, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in accordance with regulations
- Lead the team in maintaining high levels of efficiency, teamwork, and professionalism
- Assist with menu planning, ingredient sourcing, and inventory management
- Ensure all dishes meet quality standards before serving to customers
- Provide training and mentorship to junior kitchen staff to develop their culinary skills
Experience
- Proven experience as a Tandoori Chef or similar role within Indian cuisine or hospitality environments
- Supervising experience in a professional kitchen setting is highly desirable
- Strong background in food production, preparation, and cooking techniques specific to tandoori dishes
- Demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities within busy restaurant or hospitality settings
- Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in kitchen hygiene
- Previous restaurant experience with a focus on Indian cuisine or similar culinary traditions is preferred
- Experience in serving customers directly or working within a hospitality environment is advantageous
