Overview
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Residential Conveyancing Secretary to join our legal team. This vital role involves providing comprehensive administrative support to conveyancing solicitors specialising in residential property transactions. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Responsibilities
- Managing and maintaining case files related to residential property transactions with accuracy and confidentiality
- Drafting and preparing legal documents, correspondence, and reports using Microsoft Word
- Organising and scheduling appointments, meetings, and deadlines using Microsoft Outlook
- Liaising effectively with clients, estate agents, solicitors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth communication flow
- Monitoring progress of transactions and updating relevant parties regularly
- Assisting with the preparation of completion statements and other financial documentation
- Ensuring all documentation complies with current legal standards and firm policies
- Handling incoming calls professionally and providing excellent customer service
- Maintaining organised electronic and physical filing systems for easy retrieval of information
Requirements
- Proven experience as a secretary or administrative assistant within a conveyancing or legal environment is desirable
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, in English
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Outlook, Excel) with excellent organisational skills
- Good IT literacy with the ability to adapt to new software systems quickly
- Exceptional time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively under pressure
- Attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of work
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of residential conveyancing procedures is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
Pay: £24,420.00-£25,500.00 per year
