Job Purpose
As Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for driving sustainable growth and profitability by identifying, pursuing, and securing new business opportunities. You will build and nurture strategic customer relationships, develop tailored proposals, and collaborate cross-functionally to deliver solutions that align with client needs. Your work will directly contribute to EC Electronics' long-term success by expanding market reach, entering new sectors, and enhancing revenue streams—all while working remotely.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively generate and pursue strategic new business opportunities
- Host New Product Introduction (NPI) and contract review meetings for new client onboarding
- Collaborate closely with Estimating, Engineering, Purchasing, Quality, and Operations to resolve technical or production issues
- Develop effective proposals and sales strategies based on a deep understanding of customer requirements
- Deliver customer value while maintaining expected margins and a balanced product mix
- Support the wider sales team in winning and expanding market share
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of assigned vendor product and service lines
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Proven track record within the Contract Electronics Manufacturing (CEM) industry
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and customer BOMs
- Strong influence, negotiation, and multi-level relationship-building skills
- Experience in solution-based and consultative sales
- Strategic mindset with the ability to plan and develop business cases
- Strong verbal and written communication across digital platforms
- Excellent self-management; calm and methodical under pressure
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; MRP software experience is a plus
