Overview
We are looking for an experienced Accounts Office Assistant to join our busy accounts team. The role would suit someone with practical experience of purchase ledger and sales ledger work who is organised, accurate and comfortable working in a fast-moving office environment.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in developing their career within financial services, providing vital support in managing accounts and maintaining accurate financial records. The successful candidate will possess strong data entry skills and familiarity with various accounting software platforms, contributing to the smooth operation of our accounts department.
Key Responsibilities
- Processing purchase invoices and supplier credit notes
- Matching invoices to purchase orders and delivery notes
- Supplier statement reconciliations
- Preparing supplier payment information
- Raising sales invoices and credit notes
- Posting customer receipts
- Dealing with customer and supplier queries
- Assisting with credit control and aged debt follow-up
- Maintaining accurate accounting records
- Supporting month-end routines and general accounts administration
- Liaising with colleagues across the business to resolve queries
Qualifications
- Previous experience in an accounts office role
- Good working knowledge of purchase ledger and sales ledger
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good Excel and general IT skills
- A practical, organised approach to work
- Confidence dealing with suppliers, customers and internal colleagues
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Experience in a food, manufacturing, distribution or trading business would be helpful, but is not essential.
Pay: £26,500.00-£28,500.00 per year
