Job Summary: We are seeking a reliable and experienced Stores Person to join our team. The ideal candidate will hold valid Counterbalance and Combi Lift forklift licenses, along with a full UK driving license, and will be responsible for the safe and efficient handling of materials Received and despatched within the yard/stores and supporting fabrication operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive and check off material against Purchase Orders and Delivery notes.
- Operate Counterbalance and Combi Lift forklifts to move, load, and unload materials safely.
- Prepare and kit materials for fabricators and welders according to job specifications.
- Ensure accurate and timely delivery of materials to production areas.
- Occasionally drive company vehicles to deliver or collect items off-site as required.
- Maintain yard organisation and cleanliness, ensuring materials are stored safely and logically.
- Conduct daily equipment checks and report any maintenance needs.
- Liaise closely with the office regarding stock level and control.
- Follow all health & safety procedures and contribute to a safe working environment.
- Requirements:
- Valid Counterbalance FLT license.
- Valid Combi Lift license.
- Full UK driving license – required for occasional off-site driving.
- Previous experience in a yard or materials handling role.
- Basic understanding of materials used in metal fabrication/welding is a plus.
- Physically fit and able to lift/move materials as needed.
- A proactive attitude and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Desirable:
- Experience in a fabrication or manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with basic stock control or inventory systems.
