We’re looking for x2 experienced NDT Technicians (FPI) to join a highly respected precision engineering manufacturer based in Leicester!
You’ll be working as a key part of the quality and inspection team, carrying out fluorescent penetrant inspection (FPI) on precision engineered components, ensuring all parts meet strict customer and industry specifications.

These are Full-Time, Permanent positions!
What you’ll be doing
- Carry out fluorescent penetrant inspection (FPI) in line with approved procedures and specifications
- Perform visual and dimensional inspection of precision engineered components
- Identify and report non-conforming products and support corrective actions
- Complete inspection documentation and batch records accurately
- Conduct first-off, in-process and final inspections
- Use conventional inspection equipment and gauges to verify component conformity
- Interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Maintain high quality standards and support continuous improvement activities
- Work closely with production and quality teams to achieve departmental targets
Hours
37 hours per week, rotating 3-shift pattern (mornings, afternoons and nights)
Morning:
- 05:45–13:45 (Monday–Thursday)
- 05:45–10:45 (Friday)
Afternoon:
- 13:45–21:45 (Monday–Thursday)
- 10:45–15:45 (Friday)
Night:
- 21:45–05:45 (Monday–Thursday)
- 15:45–20:45 (Friday)
Pay
£37,000 basic salary + overtime available, with expected earnings up to £45,000 per annum
*Overtime available and paid at enhanced rates
Skills/Experience Required
- A Level 1 or Level 2 FPI qualification is essential
- Previous hands-on NDT inspection experience within a manufacturing environment
- A valid UK driving licence
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Experience using conventional inspection equipment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
- Comfortable working within a fast paced production environment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Flexible approach to shift working
