Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and reliable Roofer/Plasterboarder to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining roofing systems and plasterboard in a variety of building projects. This role requires a strong understanding of construction processes, excellent technical skills, and the ability to work safely and efficiently on-site. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to high-quality building projects while developing your expertise in roofing, plasterboarding, and related trades. Responsibilities
- Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and construction plans to ensure accurate installation of roofing and plasterboard systems.
- Install, repair, and maintain roofing structures using appropriate materials and techniques, including working with various types of roofing systems.
- Measure, cut, and fit plasterboard sheets accurately to specifications; secure panels using hand tools and power tools.
- Perform welding, fabrication, carpentry, masonry, plumbing, and other related tasks as required for project completion.
- Utilise hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication machinery safely and effectively.
- Conduct heavy lifting of materials such as roofing panels, plasterboards, or other building components while adhering to safety protocols.
- Follow health and safety regulations at all times to minimise risks on-site.
- Assist with the preparation of surfaces prior to installation or repair work.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects within specified standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in roofing, plasterboarding, or general construction roles.
- Strong knowledge of schematics and technical drawings relevant to roofing and plasterboard installation.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication machinery.
- Experience with carpentry, masonry, plumbing or related trades is advantageous.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently.
- Good understanding of health and safety practices within a construction environment.
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in construction trades are preferred but not essential.
