Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our culinary team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of food preparation, ensuring high standards of quality and safety, and managing kitchen operations. Duties
- Lead and supervise the kitchen team, fostering a positive and productive working environment
- Plan and develop innovative menus that meet customer preferences and uphold quality standards
- Oversee food production, ensuring consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control
- Manage daily kitchen operations, including inventory control, ordering supplies, and maintaining cleanliness standards
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene practices at all times
- Train and mentor junior staff to enhance their skills in food preparation, cooking, and service
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery
- Monitor food costs and optimise utilisation of ingredients to minimise waste
- Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction through exceptional culinary experiences
Skills
- Proven supervising experience within a professional kitchen environment
- Extensive knowledge of food production, preparation, and cooking techniques
- Strong team management and leadership abilities to motivate staff effectively
- Excellent skills in food safety standards and hygiene regulations compliance
- Solid background in restaurant experience with a focus on hospitality excellence
- Proficiency in culinary arts with a creative flair for menu development
- Experience in food service operations including serving and customer interaction
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Effective communication skills to coordinate with team members and management
