About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and strategically minded Deputy Director to lead intelligence collection, analysis, and reporting across designated regional and thematic areas. This is a senior leadership opportunity for a highly capable intelligence professional with strong operational oversight, team leadership, and client engagement experience.
Reporting directly to the Intelligence Director, the successful candidate will oversee intelligence operations, drive reporting quality, coordinate cross-functional teams, and contribute to business development and organisational strategy. The role offers significant scope for professional growth and influence within a fast-paced and evolving intelligence environment.
Key Responsibilities
Intelligence Operations & Reporting
- Lead and develop intelligence collection initiatives across assigned regions and themes.
- Direct reporting efforts to ensure intelligence outputs are accurate, timely, relevant, and aligned with client requirements.
- Coordinate with other senior intelligence leaders to ensure consistent regional coverage and reporting standards.
- Oversee quality assurance processes for intelligence reports in collaboration with editorial teams.
- Ensure the timely delivery of daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual intelligence products.
- Monitor reporting performance and maintain exceptionally high editorial and analytical standards.
Cross-Team Collaboration
- Work closely with OSINT, geospatial intelligence, analytical, and business teams to strengthen intelligence collection capabilities.
- Identify intelligence gaps and develop solutions to address evolving operational requirements.
- Lead collaborative projects across departments and monitor project effectiveness and outcomes.
Client Engagement & Business Development
- Support client engagement activities and ensure evolving intelligence requirements are understood and delivered against.
- Contribute to identifying new business opportunities and expanding existing client relationships.
- Assist in proposal development, including resource planning and project scoping against client requirements.
Leadership & Team Management
- Line manage and mentor intelligence teams, ensuring effective task allocation, training, and professional development.
- Foster a collaborative, high-performance team culture focused on accountability and continuous improvement.
- Conduct performance reviews, support career progression, and contribute to staff retention initiatives.
- Manage employee welfare and performance matters in coordination with senior leadership and HR.
Project Delivery & Innovation
- Lead new intelligence collection and reporting initiatives from planning through delivery.
- Introduce innovative methodologies, tools, and processes to improve intelligence operations and reporting.
- Drive continuous improvement across intelligence products and workflows.
Operational & Strategic Leadership
- Ensure operational resources are aligned with business priorities and reporting requirements.
- Participate in senior leadership discussions and contribute to strategic planning and organisational growth.
- Support wider business functions with regional and thematic intelligence expertise as required.
About You
You will be a confident and experienced intelligence leader with a strong background in intelligence operations, OSINT, and strategic analysis. You will bring excellent leadership skills, commercial awareness, and the ability to manage multiple complex priorities in a fast-moving environment.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven senior leadership experience within intelligence, security, geopolitical risk, or related sectors.
- Strong expertise in intelligence collection, analysis, and reporting processes.
- Advanced understanding of OSINT methodologies, analytical techniques, and intelligence tools.
- Experience managing complex intelligence projects and cross-functional teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including client-facing experience.
- Strong understanding of geopolitical developments and global security trends.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop high-performing teams.
- Strong organisational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Experience supporting business development and client growth initiatives is highly desirable.
