Are you an experienced and passionate HLTA with a strong background in supporting pupils with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)?
We are seeking an exceptional Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) specialising in Speech & Language to join our welcoming and inclusive primary school in Bexley. Working closely with teaching staff, SEND professionals and external agencies, you will play a key role in delivering targeted Speech & Language interventions, supporting children with communication difficulties and helping to remove barriers to learning.
About the Role
As our HLTA (Speech & Language Focus), you will:
· Deliver high-quality Speech & Language interventions to individuals and small groups.
· Support pupils with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) across the school.
· Work closely with teachers, SENDCOs, therapists and parents to implement communication programmes and strategies.
· Monitor pupil progress and contribute to assessments, reports and reviews.
· Support children in developing confidence, social communication skills and independence.
· Provide classroom support where required and lead learning activities under the guidance of teaching staff.
· Promote inclusion and ensure all pupils can access the curriculum effectively.

The Successful HLTA Will Have:
· HLTA status or equivalent qualification and/or relevant experience.
· Excellent numeracy and literacy skills equivalent to NVQ Level 2 in English and Maths.
· Training in relevant intervention strategies and learning support approaches.
· Demonstrable experience supporting children with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (essential).
· The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
· Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues.
· Confidence using relevant technology and educational resources.
· A proactive, flexible and solution-focused approach.
· A genuine commitment to the happiness, wellbeing and progress of every child.
