Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Cleaner to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards across two of our nurseries in Sunderland, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for children and staff alike. Responsibilities
- Perform general cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and polishing surfaces
- Clean and disinfect bathrooms, kitchens, and communal areas to high standards
- Empty bins and dispose of waste appropriately
- Restock supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet roll as needed
- Maintain cleaning equipment in good condition and report any faults or damages
- Follow health and safety guidelines at all times to ensure a safe working environment
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding daily tasks and any issues encountered
Requirements
- Previous experience in cleaning or similar roles is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided
- Good communication skills in English to understand instructions and interact with clients or team members
- Valid driving licence is preferred for roles involving travel between sites
- Excellent customer service skills to ensure positive interactions with clients and visitors
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
