We are seeking a Special BSL qualified level 3 minimum / level 6 preferred , female PA/ Support Worker. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the female client with daily tasks, including medical health related monitoring and offering companionship and emotional support for both days at home and days out. There may be possible holiday accompanying trips subject to your availability. The ideal individual will be kind, patient and self motivated, capable of building a strong relationship with the client. You must be proficient in BSL qualified to level 3 or working towards level 6. CODA's with sufficient skill may not require a qualification.
Days may include sitting at home and simply providing companionship, daily home tasks, attending social activities in and around the locality, assisting the client with volunteer work.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and assist with the clients health related matters
- Provide assistance and encouragement with activities of daily living, decison making, hobbies and planning. Providing emotional support and companionship.
- Provide the client with BSL Communication Support both at home and out and about for daily and leisure activities
- Assisting the client with BSL Communication support for any volunteering work
- Perform light housekeeping duties.
- Communicate issues to the other support workers and family in a timely manner.
- Assist with shopping, both planning meals and purhcasing.
- Accompany the client on possible holidays and or overnight trips.( This may not be necessary but if you are able to may be a possible part of the role)
- Driving the client - use of a car provided whilst at work.
Hours worked during a week will be generally 7 hours a day ( 2 days may be possible), you will need to be flexible at times to work varying hours into the evening for outings. Occasional weekend work at times may also be requested. Total hours worked may be 14 to 35 depending on your availability.
