Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for projects, ensuring competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards. Duties
- Analyse project plans, specifications, and drawings to determine scope of work and required resources.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labour, equipment, and subcontractor services.
- Collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain accurate pricing information.
- Review and compare bids from vendors and subcontractors to ensure competitiveness and accuracy.
- Monitor project budgets throughout the bidding process and provide recommendations for cost optimisation.
- Maintain organised records of all estimates, calculations, and supporting documentation.
- Assist in the development of tender submissions and proposals.
- Support project managers in assessing potential risks related to costs and timelines.
Skills
- Proven experience in estimating within relevant industry sectors.
- Strong understanding of construction or manufacturing processes (or relevant field).
- Excellent organisational skills with high attention to detail.
- Proficiency in estimating software programmes and Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to analyse complex data and produce clear, accurate reports.
- Effective communication skills to liaise with suppliers, clients, and internal teams.
- Knowledge of cost control principles to help manage project budgets effectively.

Pay: £25,000.00-£49,000.00 per year
