General Labourer – Sports Construction, Artificial Grass Installation, Civils & Maintenance

About the Role

This is a hands-on role offering the opportunity to work on a variety of projects including sports pitches, recreational facilities, landscaping works, drainage installations, groundworks, and ongoing maintenance contracts.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with the installation of artificial grass sports surfaces and landscaping projects
- Supporting groundworks and civil engineering activities
- Site preparation, excavation, and material handling
- Assisting with drainage and sub-base construction
- Loading, unloading, and transporting materials and equipment
- Operating basic hand and power tools safely
- Maintaining a clean and safe work environment
- Using machinery
- Supporting maintenance and repair works on existing sports facilities
- Following health and safety procedures at all times
Requirements Essential
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Capable of manual labour
- Reliable and punctual
- Full UK driving licence (preferred)
- Ability to commute to Leigh, Greater Manchester
- Ability to work as part of a team
- In date CSCS card
- Plant operator tickets (e.g. Dumper, Roller, Excavator)
- Valid registered UTR number
Desirable
- Previous experience in:
- Sports construction
- Artificial grass installation
- First Aid certification
Travel & Working Away
This role involves extensive travel throughout the UK and often overnight stays away from home. Successful candidates must be comfortable working at various project locations and staying away during the week and weekend when required.
Requirements
- Willingness to travel extensively across the UK
- Ability to work away from home and stay in accommodation provided by the company when required
- Flexibility to work varying hours depending on project location and programme requirements
