Furniture Delivery & Installation Operative
Whatley & Son Ltd is a growing family-run removals and logistics company based in South Yorkshire. We are looking for a reliable, hard-working individual to join our team on a self-employed basis.
The role primarily involves two-person furniture delivery and installation, working directly with customers in their homes. There will also be opportunities to assist with house removals and other logistics work as required.
We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, has a positive attitude and can provide excellent customer service whilst representing the company.
Responsibilities
- Deliver and install furniture safely and professionally within customers’ homes.
- Work as part of a two-person team to complete daily delivery schedules.
- Carry furniture safely and responsibly, including heavy items where required.
- Assemble furniture and position items in customers’ rooms of choice.
- Maintain a professional and courteous manner with customers at all times.
- (Drivers) Complete vehicle checks and help keep vehicles clean and presentable.
- Assist with removals and other company work when required.
- Follow company procedures and health and safety requirements.
Requirements
- Full UK driving licence preferred but not essential.
- Previous experience in furniture delivery, removals, logistics or a similar hands-on role is advantageous but not essentia.
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling.
- Reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a team.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Professional appearance and attitude.
What We Offer
- Self-employed position (We can help if you haven’t been self employed before).
- £13 - £14 per hour depending on experience.
- Typical working days of up to 10.5 paid hours.
