About STS Environmental
STS Environmental is seeking experienced and professional HGV Class 2 Drivers to join our growing operations team. We have opportunities available for Road Sweeper Drivers and Vacuum Excavator Operators supporting a range of contracting, site sweeping, and excavation projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate Road Sweepers and/or Vacuum Excavators safely and efficiently.
- Carry out routine vehicle and equipment maintenance, including brush changes and general upkeep.
- Conduct daily vehicle safety checks (e.g. tyres, oil, coolant, lights, fuel levels) to ensure roadworthiness and compliance.
- Maintain vehicles and equipment in a clean and safe condition.
- Accurately complete job documentation using tablets/smartphones and digital systems.
- Comply with all company policies, health and safety regulations, and relevant road traffic legislation.
Essential Requirements
- Valid HGV Class 2 Licence (Category C / LGV C).
- Valid Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC).
- Valid CSCS Green Card or relevant NPORS certification (for applicable roles).
- Ability to carry out vehicle safety checks and basic maintenance tasks.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work flexibly, including early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends where operationally required.
Desirable (Not Essential)
- Road Sweeper and Gully Sucker NVQ.
- Vacuum Excavator NPORS qualification.
- Minimum 1 year’s relevant experience (for Road Sweeper roles).
Working Hours
- Monday to Saturday (occasional Saturdays as required).
- Overtime may be available.
- Flexibility required in line with operational needs.
All working hours will comply with UK Drivers’ Hours Regulations and Working Time Directive requirements.
