SEND Teacher - Highcroft School, The Green, Cockfield, Bishop Auckland, County Durham, DL13 5AG
Salary: £28,288 - £44,304 | Full Time (40 hours/week)
Purpose of Role
To plan and deliver high-quality, inclusive teaching that meets the diverse needs of pupils with complex needs and challenging behaviours. The Teacher will model professional integrity and the EPIC values, work collaboratively within the school community, and adhere strictly to the Staff Code of Conduct to promote a safe, respectful, and nurturing learning environment.
At Highcroft School
We provide placements for pupils between KS3 to KS5 who reside in Keys Group residential homes and for day pupils. We are committed to each and every one of our pupils and provide specialist support which is individually tailored to meet the unique needs of the pupils.

Situated in a quiet, rural village the school offers a nurturing and safe environment for the children attending. Individual Education Plans ensure each pupil works through a differentiated National Curriculum programme of study appropriate to their ability and Key Stage.
Key Responsibilities

This role is open to specialists within Mathematics, and/or Science

Delivering and planning lessons to support a wide range of learning styles from KS2 to KS4

Providing professional learning and development for all pupils through establishing personalised learning routes

Helping and supporting individual pupils as required and encouraging them to research topics themselves

Experience teaching through a spiral programme, revisiting concepts and topic areas, each time extending knowledge, deepening understanding and developing skills

Working alongside relevant internal and external professionals such as psychologists and therapists
Requirement
-
A committed and passionate view of students with SEND
-
At least two years’ experience minimum of working in a SEND environment or similar unit/provision

QTS/QTLS is a requirement
