Groundsperson

Salary: £28,413 per annum

We're looking for a Groundsperson who takes pride in creating exceptional outdoor spaces and understands the difference that attention to detail can make.
Working alongside our Maintenance Manager and Head Gardener, you'll help maintain and enhance the gardens and external areas across our award-winning destination. From perfectly presented lawns and vibrant planting displays to safe pathways and beautifully maintained landscapes, your work will help ensure Gretna Green looks its very best every day of the year.
What you'll be doing
- Maintaining lawns, gardens, flower beds, shrubs and trees to an exceptional standard
- Carrying out grass cutting, hedge trimming and seasonal planting across all Gretna Green sites
- Maintaining pathways, fencing and external areas, ensuring they are safe, tidy and welcoming
- Operating and maintaining landscaping equipment, including ride-on mowers and strimmers
- Keeping outdoor areas free from litter and ensuring equipment and vehicles are clean and well maintained
- Working safely with plant, machinery and horticultural chemicals in line with health and safety regulations
- Supporting the wider maintenance team and taking pride in delivering outstanding presentation across the estate
What you'll bring
You'll have previous experience in grounds maintenance or landscaping, along with:
- A full UK driving licence
- Experience using landscaping machinery and maintaining plant equipment
- Excellent time management and the ability to work independently
- A keen eye for detail and pride in delivering high standards
- A positive, reliable approach and strong team spirit
A horticultural qualification, PA1/PA6 spraying certificates or chainsaw certification would be an advantage, but if you're passionate about creating beautiful outdoor spaces, we'd love to hear from you.
