Job Description:
We are looking to recruit a dental nurse to join our busy, friendly practice team in Beggarwood, Basingstoke. This role is offered on a permanent basis. Days of which we can offer will be varied and range of hours are available.
Preference will be given to GDC registrants with previous experience of Care stream R4 dental software and we are particularly keen to hear from anyone who already holds a Radiography qualification. This is a full-time role but part-time hours will be considered as well.

This is a pivotal role within the practice team and you will liaise closely with clinical and administrative staff. You may be required to cover the reception desk occasionally as part of your role so must be comfortable to liaise with patients both in and out of surgery and be able to demonstrate a strong set of customer service skills alongside your clinical expertise.

Responsibilities
- Assisting dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including preparing instruments and materials.
- Providing exceptional patient care by offering reassurance, explaining procedures, and ensuring patient comfort throughout their visit.
- Maintaining strict hygiene standards by sterilising instruments and ensuring the treatment area is clean and organised.
- Managing patient records accurately using IT systems, including updating treatment notes and scheduling appointments.
- Supporting patients with post-treatment advice and answering any questions they may have.
- Ensuring the smooth running of the clinic by organising supplies, managing stock levels, and assisting with administrative duties as required.
- Communicating effectively with patients, team members, and external suppliers to ensure efficient practice operations.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Dental Nurse or in a similar healthcare support role is highly desirable.
- Proven patient care skills with the ability to communicate clearly and empathetically in English.
- Knowledge of nursing principles applied within a dental setting.
- Competence in using IT systems for record keeping and appointment management.
- Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
