Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? Chalk Education is seeking an experienced 1:1 ASD Support Assistants to join a welcoming primary school in Chadderton, Oldham.
This is a fantastic opportunity for dedicated support staff who have a background in working 1:1 with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and are looking for a fulfilling, long-term role.
The Role:
- Providing 1:1 support for a child with ASD in a mainstream primary classroom
- Working closely with class teachers and the school’s SENCo to implement EHCP strategies
- Encouraging engagement, promoting independence, and helping manage behaviour effectively
- Ensuring the child’s safety, emotional wellbeing, and access to learning at all times
Requirements:
- Proven experience supporting children with ASD on a 1:1 basis, ideally in a school setting
- Available full-time during school hours (8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday)
- A strong understanding of safeguarding and commitment to child protection
- A nurturing, patient, and proactive approach to support
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply for one via Chalk)
