Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and attentive Bar Assistant to join our vibrant hospitality team. This role involves supporting bar operations, ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining a clean and safe environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality, good organisational skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting. Previous experience in a restaurant or bar environment is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided.
Duties
- Serve drinks and organise bar supplies to ensure smooth service during busy periods
- Assist in preparing and replenishing bar stock, including garnishes and glassware
- Maintain cleanliness of the bar area, including cleaning glasses and equipment
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards and responsible alcohol service policies
- Support the team with setting up and packing down the bar at opening and closing times
- Provide excellent customer service by engaging with guests in a friendly and professional manner
- Handle cash transactions accurately using the till system
- Assist with organising events or special functions as required
Skills
- Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant environments is preferred but not essential
- Knowledge of food safety standards and responsible alcohol service is desirable
- Strong serving skills with a focus on customer satisfaction
- Good organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions accurately
- Excellent time management to ensure timely service during peak hours
- Friendly, approachable manner with good communication skills
- Ability to work well within a team and adapt quickly to changing priorities
- Due to the nature of the role a minimum age requirement of 18 years of age is essential.
