Summary
We are looking for an experienced, reliable Chef to join our friendly team at our Whitebeach Care Home in St Leonards on Sea. As Chef, you’ll play a key role in providing nutritious, well-balanced meals that meet the dietary needs and preferences of our residents. You’ll prepare home-style meals using fresh ingredients, cater for a range of dietary requirements, and help ensure that mealtimes are an enjoyable part of daily life within the home.
Shift Pattern:
42hrs per week, comprised of four 10.5hr shifts, which include three weekday shifts and one Sunday shift each week.
Main responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook high-quality meals in line with residents’ care plans and nutritional needs
- Ensure all meals are well presented, varied, and in line with menu plans
- Maintain high standards of kitchen hygiene and food safety in line with regulations
- Manage stock levels and ordering to minimise waste
- Work closely with care staff to adapt meals for residents’ preferences and special diets
What we’re looking for:
- Previous experience as a Chef or Cook, ideally within a care or catering setting
- A passion for cooking and attention to detail
- Good understanding of food safety and hygiene standards (Level 2 or 3 Food Hygiene desirable)
- Organised, dependable and able to work independently
