Maternity Support Worker (Community), Band 3 (22.5 hours a week)
The main purpose of the maternity support worker role is to offer the day 5 newborn bloodspot and hearing screen to the newborn babies, as well as offering support to the mothers’ health and wellbeing postnatally across Gloucestershire.
Additional working pattern details: 3 x Shifts allocated per 7 days week
The maternity support workers will work as part of a multi-disciplinary maternity team, delivering safe, compassionate, and competent care to women and their families both in hospital and community settings. They will work in clinics as well as travel to multiple locations within a working day across county to provide support. They will provide postnatal care as well as the day 5 newborn bloodspot and hearing screening.
The post is based at Stroud General Hospital, working collaboratively with Maternity Support Workers (MSWs) across the county and alongside the midwifery team within the unit.
