PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £25,700 - 29,167 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
Join BBC TV Social Publishing and help operate some of the BBC’s biggest social media accounts, including @BBC, @BBCiPlayer and @BBCOne. Working across platforms including Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube, you’ll help publish, optimise and analyse content that connects millions of people with programmes from across the BBC. This is an opportunity to develop editorial judgement, platform expertise and audience insight at the heart of one of the UK’s largest social media operations.

You’ll work alongside experienced social media professionals, collaborate with teams across the BBC and play a role in bringing some of the UK’s most-loved programmes to audiences every day. Your Key Responsibilities and Key Impact
Support the day-to-day publishing and optimisation of major BBC TV social media accounts, helping ensure content is delivered consistently and in line with account strategy.
Write and optimise copy for different social media platforms and create thumbnails to support content publication and audience engagement.
Use audience insight and performance data to help inform publishing decisions, content planning and optimisation.
Work with colleagues across TV Social Publishing, Campaigns, Production and other BBC teams to coordinate the delivery of social content.
Take ownership of assigned activity, ensuring content is delivered accurately, on time and in line with BBC editorial and compliance standards.
Monitor platform developments, contribute to performance reporting and identify opportunities to improve audience engagement and ways of working.
Your Skills and Experience
Essential Criteria
Experience of contributing to the planning, publishing, optimisation or performance management of social media accounts within a broadcaster, publisher, media organisation, agency or other audience-focused content organisation.
The ability to communicate clearly and accurately in writing, with excellent attention to detail.
The ability to make sound decisions about content, demonstrating an understanding of audience needs, brand considerations and editorial standards.
Experience of using performance data, audience insight or other information to inform decisions or recommendations
The ability to manage multiple priorities, work to deadlines and collaborate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
Desirable
Experience using social media analytics, publishing or scheduling tools.
Experience of contributing to content planning or editorial calendars.
Experience in writing copy and creating thumbnails for social media platforms.
Experience in using Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop, Premiere Pro or Media Encoder.
An understanding of how content should be adapted and optimised for different social media platforms.
