Autism Teaching Assistant – Creative SEND School

We’re working with a highly respected special school in South West London that supports pupils aged 4–19 with Autism (ASC), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD). The school offers an engaging, sensory-rich environment, with a strong focus on creative, play-based learning.
They’re now looking for Autism Teaching Assistants to join their supportive and inclusive team on a long-term to permanent basis.
What you will be doing:
- Supporting pupils with Autism and complex needs in a small, well-staffed classroom
- Delivering interactive, play-based activities that encourage engagement and progress
- Using communication tools such as PECS and Makaton (training provided if needed)
- Managing dysregulated behaviour with consistency, calmness, and empathy
- Collaborating with teachers, therapists, and fellow support staff
- Assisting with sensory sessions, creative arts, hydrotherapy, and structured play
