The Opportunity
ReachX is advising a company dedicated to accelerating the transition of global island communities to 100% renewable energy, circular economy, and climate resilience. Supported by major international bodies such as the UN, EU, and IRENA, the organization is currently preparing to close a seed round. We are seeking a senior advisor to sharpen the investor narrative and finalize the financial strategy ahead of a targeted September 2026 close.
Role Overview
The advisor will work alongside the founding team to stress-test the current fundraising strategy and capital structure. This engagement involves three parallel workstreams designed to make the client investor-ready for a mixed audience of impact family offices, climate angels, and strategic HNWIs.
Key Responsibilities
- Narrative & Deck Restructuring: Lead a full rebuild of the current investor deck (12–15 slides), shifting the "hook" to emphasize the economic and security case alongside the climate mission.
- Financial Modeling: Translate a grant-heavy P&L into a credible, integrated revenue model. This includes building a probability-weighted pipeline for technical assistance contracts and developing assumptions for a future digital platform.
- Capital Structure Advisory: Provide a recommendation on the optimal fundraising instrument—SAFE vs. convertible note vs. priced equity—considering feasibility within European (Italian/Maltese) legal frameworks.
- Value Creation Mapping: Refine the "use of funds" narrative to move beyond broad allocation buckets into specific, investor-legible milestones.
Ideal Profile
- Direct experience preparing pitch decks and investor materials for impact, climate, or cleantech ventures at the seed/Series A stage.
- Strong command of financial modeling for early-stage businesses, with the ability to interrogate and reframe projection assumptions.
- Familiarity with blended finance structures or development bank capital (e.g., IDB, EU instruments, GCF) is a significant plus.
- Language Skills: Fluency in Italian is strongly preferred. As the fundraising vehicle is an Italian s.r.l., the advisor will need to coordinate with Italian legal and accounting teams to resolve structural questions and instrument feasibility.
- Excellent written English and storytelling instincts to bridge the gap between technical mission and financial opportunity.
Engagement Terms
- Duration: 2-3 months (not full time)
- Format: Remote
- Deliverables: Revised investor deck, updated financial narrative/model, and an instrument recommendation memo.
- Fee: Fixed project fee commensurate with experience.
Please submit a short note covering:
- Relevant experience in cleantech/impact fundraising advisory.
- One or two examples of comparable work (anonymized).
- Confirmation of availability to start in July 2026.
Pay: From £1,000.00 per day
