Job Summary
We are seeking a qualified Dental Nurse or someone who would like to train as a dental nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care, assisting the dentist during procedures, and ensuring the smooth operation of the clinic. This position requires strong organisational skills, effective communication abilities, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene and patient comfort. We are proud to deliver a mixture of NHS and Private care for our community. Our treatments vary from day to day and we support patients of all ages with their dental care. Our nurses say this is a very rewarding position.
Pay for a qualified nurse is £15 per hour.
For an apprentice dental nurse, you will be paid the National Minimum wage (not the Apprentice wage) for the duration of your course.
Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during examinations and treatments, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are prepared in advance.
- Provide excellent patient care by ensuring patients are comfortable and informed throughout their visit.
- Maintain accurate patient records and update information as required using IT systems.
- Ensure that all dental equipment is cleaned, sterilised, and maintained according to health and safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding treatment plans, oral hygiene instructions, and post-treatment care.
- Manage appointment scheduling and maintain an organised workflow within the practice.
- Support administrative tasks as needed to ensure the efficient operation of the dental office.
Requirements
- This position is suitable for a Qualified Dental Nurse or for a someone new to dentistry who would like to train to become a qualified dental nurse. Full training will be given and this will be via an approved Apprenticeship training programme with Eastleigh College. For trainees, 30 hours a week will be required with one day of lectures at Eastleigh College each week in term time.
- Proficient in English, both spoken and written, with excellent communication skills.
- Highly organised with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with IT systems.
- A team player who can collaborate effectively with colleagues while also being able to work independently when required.
