Work without budget constraints. Recommend what your clients actually need.
Pay: £50–£80 per hour, fortnightly payment
Hours: 6–8 hrs/week - alongside your current role
Location: Remote, with occasional home visits
This role is specifically for OTs who:
Have at least 6 years' post-qual experience. Are currently working with clients with complex physical injuries - brain injury, spinal cord injury, amputations, polytrauma or major orthopaedic trauma. Regularly recommend long-term care and equipment packages. Currently based and practising in the UK.
The difference clinical freedom makes
In statutory practice, the gap between what you know a client needs and what you can actually recommend is a familiar frustration. As a Care Expert with J Webb, that gap closes. You assess, you reason, and you recommend what is clinically justified - without funding limits, waiting lists or institutional constraints. The report you write reflects your professional opinion, exactly as you would give it with no restrictions.
What the work looks like
- One in-person home assessment per case - approximately every 4–6 weeks at a typical workload
- Assessing care, equipment, housing and transport needs across the full range of the client's life
- Writing a clear, detailed care report for use in personal injury or clinical negligence proceedings
- Working independently, with support from our expert team and 1-to-1 mentor
- Managing your own hours - you decide how much work you take on
Support and training
No medico-legal experience is required. J Webb provides a structured induction programme, 1-to-1 mentoring from a senior Care Expert, funded CPD opportunities, and a dedicated support team. We have been developing expert OTs for over 40 years.
