Job Description: We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef de Partie to join our kitchen team at The Red Lion Restaurant. As a Chef de Partie, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our culinary department and maintaining the highest standards of food quality and presentation.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook dishes according to the menu and recipes, ensuring consistency and adherence to our quality standards.
- Collaborate with the Head Chef and Sous Chef in menu planning, recipe development, and food cost control.
- Maintain a clean and organised work station, following all food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Assist in stock management, including inventory control, stock rotation, and ordering of ingredients and supplies.
- Monitor portion sizes and wastage to minimize food costs and maintain profitability.
- Uphold excellent food presentation, ensuring that all dishes are visually appealing and meet our high standards.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of new dishes, incorporating creativity and innovation into our menu offerings.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service during busy periods and strive for excellent customer satisfaction.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Chef de Partie or similar role
- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, flavour profiles, and food presentation.
- Proficient in various cooking methods and ability to work across different sections of the kitchen.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high food quality standards.
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with kitchen staff and other team members.
- Food hygiene and safety certification is essential.
